Chapter 11

If you choose to do so, please post about the chapter here.

These optional posts are a way to participate if you feel less inclined to do so in class. Each post should be no less than 200 words and should reflect some sort of critical thought about the chapter, expanding on the ideas presented in the text, as opposed to simply summarizing various points.

In this chapter we learn about researching for a specific topic that we chose. This is important when creating a research paper because accurate research is vital to the production of accurate information. Specifically, using approved sources that has proven to be reliable research tools. These tools can be included a variety of sources, the college websites specifically are very reliable. These are provided on the Florida State University website and include an outline of different academic texts for the researcher to use when writing his paper or learning about a specific topic. For instance, in my research paper on ketogenic diets for project 2, I made use of a variety of sources on the Jstor website. The website requires access from the college profile, but after I gained access to it, I was able to find out all the information I needed to regarding keto and the processes around it. This was super helpful in backing up my claims about the ketogenic diet, and without this research I wouldn’t have been able to formulate the paper that I was able to come up with. These research tools found in websites and libraries were also used by my fellow classmates who also might have been inspired when writing about their topic. Without these various research tools, our ability to form our own ideas might’ve been hindered by absence of information.
